100+ Years of business experience across our London mentorship team

It's easy to see why London is such a powerhouse for business. Not only has it overtaken New York as the world's leading centre of global finance, but it's also a vibrant, culturally and socially rich environment which inspires innovation. Household names, including Sir Tim Berners-Lee, Sir Richard Branson and Lord Alan Sugar, all started their journeys in London.

The challenge for businesses, however, is that with so much competition for attention, customers and investment, how do you make sure your company not only stands out but stands head and shoulders above the rest? That’s exactly what our London business mentors do: help business owners develop clear strategies, strengthen their leadership, and achieve sustainable growth. With the support of our experienced business mentors, entrepreneurs can gain the insight, guidance, and strategic direction needed to overcome challenges and unlock new opportunities.

What London Business Owners Say About Working With Us

We have experience supporting a huge range of businesses across all London boroughs, including the City, Canary Wharf, Shoreditch, Mayfair, Camden, Brixton and more. See just a few examples of what London business owners say about working with our London Mentors below.

  • “I have been working with Mark for 18 months and he has been fantastic. His initial company investigation and staff interviews provided very valuable insight as to where weaknesses were present and this provided the necessary building blocks of restructure and planning. Our regular monthly meetings allow for constructive progress to be made all the time and highlights the areas needing more attention. Mark has a genuine passion for what he does and this comes across easily with his enthusiasm. He has taught me to develop a better work life balance which has been extremely important to my family life. I would highly recommend Mark to anyone who is needing a professional outside eye to give constructive criticism with genuine achievable new results. Thanks again Mark for all your help and support.”

  • “Joe Hinton at UKBM has been by our side since the early days of our family-run company in 2011 when we had very little experience and know-how on growing our business. He worked with us steadily and patiently, building our understanding, strategy and confidence, and has been there through every twist and turn, helping us to make key decisions at key moments. Engaging with UKBM was a 'sliding doors' moment in our journey; we simply would not have survived, let alone thrived, without his all-round input and support over the years. Joe is a true professional, combining business expertise with people skills in a genuinely caring way. We could not have afforded to be without mentoring from UKBM.”

Steve genuinely cares about the people he works with and goes above and beyond to support your success. FAQs

What is business mentoring, and how is it different from coaching?

Business mentoring is a long-term relationship with a trusted adviser who gets to know you, your business and your goals. As business mentors, we challenge your thinking, act as a sounding board, and guide you through every stage of growth.

Meanwhile, business coaching tends to be more focused and shorter-term, targeting specific skills or performance goals. At UKBM, we offer both, and many clients benefit from a blend of the two depending on where they are in their business journey.

How much does business mentoring cost in London?

Our programmes are tailored to each business, so costs vary depending on the level of support you need. The best starting point is our complimentary initial session, which gives you the chance to discuss your goals with one of our London business mentors at no cost and no obligation. Get in touch to arrange yours.

How often will I meet my business mentor?

That's entirely up to you. Some clients meet their mentor weekly, others fortnightly, monthly or quarterly. We are flexible and will try to accommodate your business and your diary. Sessions are face-to-face and typically run between one and a half to three hours. Outside of scheduled meetings, your mentor is available by phone virtually any time you need them.

What industries do your London mentors cover?
Our London mentoring team brings experience across a wide range of sectors, including FMCG, retail, finance, banking, marketing and operations, both in the UK and internationally. Because our approach is built around your specific business model rather than industry templates, we work effectively with businesses across most sectors, from professional services in the City to trades businesses in the outer boroughs.
How do I know if I need a business mentor?

Most business owners don't realise they need a mentor until they're already stretched thin. If you're finding it hard to step back and work on the business rather than in it, struggling with decisions around growth, people or profitability, or simply feeling like there's no one in the business you can talk to openly, those are the clearest signs.

A mentor gives you the outside perspective, honest challenge and strategic support that's almost impossible to get from within your own four walls. If any of that sounds familiar, our complimentary first session is a no-pressure way to find out what's possible.
