The beautiful county of Cornwall and we tend to envisage surfer dudes, beautiful beaches and pasties. In fact its economy is heavily dependent on two industries, agriculture and tourism. The tourism industry is responsible for around 20% of jobs in the county. Fishing also plays a large part in with plenty of harbours and ports found along the Cornish coastline, Fowey, Falmouth Polperro, plus the larger parishes of Falmouth, Penzance, Newquay, St Austell.

Cornwall is home to Helston Garages, Cornwall’s largest business founded in 1960 by Mr & Mrs Carr Snr, as a filling station and repairs workshop located in the small Cornish town of the same name. Today the group is one of the 25 largest dealerships in Britain and still a family owned business. Mr Carr Snr must have been a great mentor to his son and daughter-in-law who went on to take it over.
