North Yorkshire is England’s largest county, and many of the people who live or visit the area will tell you it is one of the most picturesque and a terrific place to spend any amount of time.
From the Yorkshire Dales in the west, past the city of York – which is one of the country’s most popular tourist destinations – through the North York Moors to the magnificent Yorkshire Coast towns of Scarborough and Whitby, North Yorkshire truly has the lot for visitors, from historic sights to impressive natural wonders.
Growth sectors in Yorkshire and the Humber are the digital industry, financial services, public services, retail and sustainable technologies. Sheffield is the UK's hub for games, housing the UK's National Videogame Museum and the British Gaming Institute, while Leeds has a large financial and business services sector.
Twinkl is an international online educational publishing house, producing teaching and educational materials. Founded by Susie and Jonathan Seaton, the business began back in 2010 when they realised teacher Susie was struggling to find the resources she needed for her lessons.
Working out of a bedroom in Sheffield, they decided to create as many resources as they could - so other teachers wouldn't have to spend all their time searching for them as Susie had.
The resources on offer cover primary teaching through to Key Stage 5 and the list of supplies is endless as the company has also branched out in home education, handwriting schemes and even dementia support.
It now boasts more than 650,000 resources and helps people from as far away as the Philippines.
Twinkl went international in 2018, opening a second office in Australia, and now it's got plenty of impressive accolades.
