Business Mentors in Bedfordshire

Bedfordshire is a large county including the well-known towns of Leighton Buzzard, Biggleswade, Woburn and many more. In 2021 Bedfordshire was named one of the most entrepreneurial places in the UK with over 2,200 new businesses launching despite the recent challenges of the pandemic.

It is home to many large business head offices such as Costa Coffee, Whitbread, Connells (where the first branch was opened in Luton in 1936) and Vauxhaull Motors. It’s also home to Woburn Safari Park and London Luton Airport. But Did you know… hat making was Luton’s biggest industry in the 1700s? It’s why Luton Town FC has the nickname, the Hatters.

The world’s first “tractor” (Ivel Agricultural Motor) was invented in Bedfordshire back in 1902. It was created in Biggleswade by a man called Daniel Albone. Maybe that’s where Steve Mattin the automobile designer who grew up in Wooton, Bedforshire was inspired to design the  AvtoVAZ  Lada, as well as the Mercedes ML-Class and GL-Class E vehicles.
