Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

The dreaded question from many a job interview

But viewed as an important question for employees to answer. To assess their suitability to an organisation and their career ambitions. So what about a business owner? The answer I think is summed up beautifully in the quote: ‘A goal without a plan is just a wish’.

Where to start

Should the goals be personal or purely financial? The answer lies with you and is typically a combination of both. Through conversations with a Business Mentor, these goals can become very clear and well formulated – both important to start working on making them reality. Conversations with a trusted advisor can save you time in defining your long-term prospects and get you working on them quicker. You will have an action plan tailored to your specific goals at the end of the process. The goals should always be measurable as this way you as a business owner can clearly see when your planned actions are starting to deliver results. Likewise, give you a warning sign if some things are not working so they can be altered.

Many people believe a Business Mentor is there to support in times of financial difficulty, but the benefits of mentoring can also be felt in an organisation during good times and for building a future with the objectives, the business owner feels are relevant. If your goal is to retire within the next 5 years, then a Business Mentor can help you prepare your organisation and yourself for this goal.

If you are not sure where your business (or you) is heading, then I invite you to make use of a complimentary session where during 1 ½ hours we will discuss every aspect of your business and you will leave with a clear idea of the benefits of mentoring for you and your dreams afterwards.
